Here’s what I have:

An account with about a month left of subscription, it’s not a trial account

A cd key for an unused disc but not the disc itself

The computer I am using doesn’t have world of warcraft installed

My friend might let me borrow his cd and cd key (will this work?)

You can download the game from the site.. takes a while though. Also cd keys are unique to each account so no point in taking your friends cd key, just use your own.

if u have the account name and password go to the worldofwarcraft.com website and login to the account management section, then after u log in u can download the game client for free as long as its not a trial account. Once you download the client(actual game) you will start it then have to download a bunch of patches(updates) which should start automatically then the you will be able to finally start the game and enjoy!! P.S. depending on your connection and other variables this may take hours. Could be shorter but be patient.

The cd key is unique and can only be use once… but the cd itself can b used multiple times. I had to actually download from Worldofwarcraft.com since i don’t have the capability of using legit dvd cd’s but yes everything except the key code itself is usable.

The game is down-loadable, but takes a while. The Key code is vital for creating an account. Keys that have had accounts attached to them are not reusable.

So your friend only needs to lend you the disc and your away. Subscription is your problem and finance dependent.
