Why does my computer go to a black screem when running Warcraft III?

When I try to play Warcraft 3, it goes straight to a black screen. I downloaded the latest patch and the same thing happened. Can anyone help me?

Tim, Try downloading the latest drivers for your video card. Also, some Nvidia cards conflict with games when running more than one monitor so if you have two monitors, try disabling the output to the second monitor. If not, your best bet is to upgrade your display drivers from the manufactureres website and download the latest version of directX. good luck!

This happens to me when I try to run two sessions of EQ on my computer. The video card can’t handle it. Buy a new one.

Try updating your Video Card Drivers.
Make sure that you also install the most recent version of DirectX or the one included in the Warcraft CD.

Also check to see that no other processes which might interfere with the game are running in the background and close them.

You may also check Warcraft III website for support information.

If all doesnt work, you maybe running the game with an unsupported Video Card. Try upgrading to a new one.
